What’s Miraim®?

Miraim® is a high-performance microporous membrane specially engineered with Ultra-High Molecular Weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).
By using a unique film-making technology that Teijin has developed over many years, with its production know-how, the membrane features a combination of the following features: "accurate pore size control", "high porosity" , “chemical stability” and “good mechanical properties”.

By utilize of these characteristics, it can be used in a wide range of fields, such as capturing nano-level particles and removing foreign matter in the electronics filtration field, as a basis for functional membranes in the energy field, moisture-permeable waterproof membranes, breathable membranes and in the life sciences field for the separation of bacteria and proteins.

Features

Tight pore size control

This polyethylene membrane features a uniform pore structure with no difference between the surface and back side.
It can be utilized for a variety of collection and separation purposes, from nano to submicron size.

High Porosity

With porosity ratio of 50 to 90%, achieved high flow rate and low pressure loss.

Cross-section of SEM
